SETUP & SUPPORT

Get your printer ready.

Start with pairing, permissions and Test Print. Most setup issues can be narrowed down without changing your source app.

Printer not found

Turn on the printer and pair it in Android Bluetooth settings. In AndroidPrint, open Printer Settings and select the paired printer. Nearby devices may need pairing first.

Cannot connect

Check that Bluetooth is on, permission is granted and the configured printer is powered on and nearby. Another phone or app may be holding the connection. Reconnect to your selected printer.

Test Print does not print

Confirm the printer has paper and enough power. Check the selected device is an ESC/POS printer. Inspect any partial receipt before retrying; a failed write may still have produced paper.

Wrong paper width

Choose 58 mm or 80 mm in Printer Settings to match the printer. Run Test Print. Character columns can vary with printer fonts; do not confuse paper width with printable area.

Android Print Service setup

Configure your printer first. Open Android’s Printing settings and enable AndroidPrint. Then select the configured printer in a supported app’s print dialog. Receipt media can behave differently across apps.

Bluetooth permissions

Grant Bluetooth-related permissions when requested. Android 8–11 uses location permission for nearby discovery; Android 12+ uses Nearby devices permissions. Bluetooth must be enabled.

Re-selecting a printer

Open Printer Settings, tap the intended paired printer and confirm the selected indicator. The app does not silently switch to another device when the configured printer is unavailable.

ESC/POS differences

QR, barcode, character sets and cutter commands vary by model. Only enable the cutter if your printer supports one. Validate the whole receipt and tear-off position on real hardware.
